Outcomes 2010

To ensure that Five Acres’ programs are effective and that the more than 1,388 families' needs are met while meeting or surpassing industry standards, Five Acres' research department works continuously to assess programs and compile program and client data. The following 2010 statistics reflect the research department’s findings.

Happy family with teen children

Non-public School - an intensive therapeutic learning environment for children with academic deficiencies and for severe emotional or behavioral problems.
• Established in 1981
• 86 families served in 2010
• 89% of families reported their children learned critical skills and inproved their behavior.
• The longer students stayed in our school, the better their academic performance.

Grace Center - support services for domestic violence survivors and their children
• Established in 1996 with affiliation in 2004
• 128 families served in 2010
• 97% attended consistently with moderate-to-high level of involvement

Family Preservation - in-home family counseling and linkage to community support services
• Established in 1995
• 389 families served in 2010
• 92% of families remained intact at the end of services.
• 95% of families receiving Deaf Services (Est.1999) reported their child is doing better in school and getting along better with family members.

Therapeutic Behavioral Services - short-term, one-to-one intensive intervention to keep children experiencing a life crisis in their homes

• 127 families served in 2010

80% of children made moderate to high levels of improvement



Aftercare and Multidisciplinary Assessment - therapy and comprehensive assessment to facilitate children’s reunification with families
• Established in 2004 and 2005 respectively
• 126 families served in 2010
• 86% of families were satisfied with their services.

Home- and School-based Services - evidence-based counseling to children and families in their communities
• Established in 1986 and 1999 respectively
• 308 families served
 in 2010
• 84% of clients successfully met their goals


Transitional-age Youth Program - counseling, skills training, housing and financial assistance to facilitate successful emancipation of foster youth
• Established in 1988
• 
19 families served
 in 2010
• 100% of youth were enrolled in school or a vocational program.


Wraparound Services - a team-based approach to family treatment that keeps children in their home
• Established in 2006
• 
104 families served
• The program scored higher than the national average in all four phases of the Wraparound model.

Adoption Promotion and Support Services - supporting children and families throughout the adoption continuum
• Established in 2005

• 179 families served
 in 2010
• 92% of referral agencies expressed satisfaction with the program’s effectiveness.



Foster Care and Intensive Treatment Foster Care - training and certifying families to support foster children awaiting family reunification or adoption
• Established in 1988
• 167 families served
 in 2010
• The program certified the most number of families in its history.

Group Homes, Residential Treatment Center and Residential Behavioral Services
- intensive therapeutic services to children and youth with severe behavioral and emotional problems
• Established in 1972

• 124 families served in 2010
• 
95% of residential and 100% of group home youth had a permanent person involved in their lives.
