Kent Shocknek Emcees

Five Acres' ninth annual Swingin’ on a Star – Up, Up and Away on Saturday, June 2, 6 p.m. at The Ambassador Campus in Pasadena will feature special guest and emcee, Kent Shocknek. Kent is the morning news anchor of CBS 2 News. He is Southern California's longest-running television news morning news anchor. He first made national headlines in 1986 while anchoring Good Day LA covering the Challenger flight and explosion and Whittier Narrows earthquakes. Kent has a popular daily radio commentary, Just a Minute with Kent Shocknek, has worked with film industry leaders in several movies, and is a sought speaker and emcee.


Up, Up and Away, hosted by Kent Shocknek, will honor Vivian Chan and the United Charity Foundation of San Marino for their support of our Altadena-based child and family services agency. Proceeds of event benefit Five Acres’ programs which include programs that prevent child abuse, keep families intact and find permanent family options for vulnerable children.

Tickets are available at $250 per person and include live music, dinner catered by Good Gracious! Events, a duty-free store featuring premium items and a live auction. Cocktail attire is recommended.
