WARNING Dangerous Trend

Sexting, according to Wikipedia, is the act of sending sexually explicit messages or photos electronically, primarily between cell phones. Parents and guardians should be aware and children and teens educated about the dangers of this popular trend. Besides the possibility of prosecution, a major hazard is dissemination without consent. Many emails have found their way online. Extensive distribution can be instant. Control is lost once a message is sent. An angry ex, a jealous ‘friend’, malicious enemy or worse, a sexual predator or enterprising photograph merchant, could create a nightmare for a child whose life, safety and future have been compromised with a click of a Send button. A January 2009 survey found one in five teens were participating believing the messages harmless.  Learn More
